7 Time Management Strategies for Busy Entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurship entails many personal and professional qualities. As an entrepreneur, you should be able to launch, execute, grow and scale a business in an intellectual and professional way. Managing a business requires a lot of research, planning, networking, marketing, sales, effective business strategy, and much more. Entrepreneurs have to jump back and forth between tasks, managing appointment online, calls, attend events and be careful with each and every decision they make. Managing time properly and getting the most out of it is a valuable skill, not to mention highly rewarding for their business endeavor in the long run.
One of the common problems faced by entrepreneurs, successful freelancers, and business owners is mental and physical exhaustion due to extremely high workload and stress. Most of these individuals have to work 80-hour work a week or more continuously and there is no guarantee whether there will be any progress in the activities. Sometimes there is little, whilst at times there is no progress.
In order to keep their sanity in control and prevent burnout, entrepreneurs have mastered a number of time management techniques and strategies. Let’s discuss some of them:
Categorize Your Activities Into Simple Problems
When you’re running or planning your business it’s imperative that you have a clear consciousness. You require energy to get the most from your consciousness. Simplifying your problems is a good approach for time management. It involves breaking down the problems into small processes that are easy to solve and does not require intensive resource consumption.
Implement a Prioritization System
According to Stephen Covey, “The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” When you’re managing a business, you’re surrounded by priorities. Priorities vary for businesses as well as when it comes to deadlines. Priorities for businesses also revolve around possible ROI, reach, and execution.
There is a tendency among entrepreneurs, especially those who have just ventured into this space of neglecting the essentials that bring long-term value to the business. Mostly spend plenty of time and resources on a single process for weeks while forgetting everything else in the backlog. You need to learn to prioritize both long-term and short-term goals and activities that will bring in incremental results.
Start With a Simple Task
If you start your entrepreneurial endeavors with a broad and complex task, you’re highly unlikely to fail and this demotivates you. It will prevent you from going through all the process you set up with your weekly planning. An effective way to get the ball rolling is by starting with a quick task that will give you a head start. Envision a Long-Term Roadmap
Repetitive tasks can drag you from effectively planning your day-to-day activities. It’s fine to interact with issues arising from the everyday operations of the business, but by creating a long-term plan would enable you to focus better, and better decide which new tasks are in line with your long-term goals. For instance, you can start revising your business plan, set some KPIs, make plans to set some milestones to them, and so on for every month or quarter for the next 1-3 years, and take it from there.
Be In Check With Reality
You’ll find yourself overwhelmed by dealing with multiple priorities simultaneously. It will hamper your thought process and it is a recipe for a burnout. One of the major reason for this to happen is because you’re detached from reality, and diverted from your core business goals. If you find yourself in this situation with your typical workflow in disarray, pause, take a step back and revise your roadmap again.
Take Breaks for Brainstorming
If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you should be leading the business, rather than working for the business. Take regular breaks between activities and monitor the progress your processes with your targets. Keep your creative ideas flowing by going out and taking a walk now and then? It will help you relax and get some fresh air as well.

I totally agree with you that strategy should be improvised. Sometimes we don’t get done with just one plan or strategy. We cant stick with the same strategies for all. This needs to be changed according to our plan. Regardless of how minor or significant an assignment or action is, they all influence your general time on the board. What’s increasingly significant incapable time the executives aren’t about how much time you have, however how you utilize that time.
